    Bone Density Screening

    How does it work? The screening works by sending an ultrasound wave through your ankle. To perform this screening, all you will need to do is remove the shoe and sock of one foot. This screening is painless.

    How long will it take? The screening itself lasts approximately one minute.

    Why should you have your bone density tested? Bone density screenings will tell you if you are at an increased risk for bone fractures or developing osteoporosis.

    There will also be informational material provided such as information about foods with high amounts of calcium, preventing fractures, and recommendations about appropriate over-the-counter calcium supplementation.
